Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?

Hello Family and friends. I hope your all doing well and you haven’t gotten sick like my companion who then got me sick. She’s a punk too and doesn’t want to snort cayenne pepper or gargle salt water like my dad has always taught me. It totally works!!! If you like being sick then be sick but if not heed my words. Well this week like many of you have commented in your letters was very fast but also long because so much has happened. I am getting very direct and good at serious talks I still don’t like them but they have been necessary this week. There are so many good people but as our ward mission leader says were looking for the best people. The truth is we have felt a little disappointed with our investigators all great people that just fail us so many times. They don’t read or pray we put post its on their foreheads and call them and pass by for them and they don’t come to church. There are others on the other hand who hear and understand the voice of the Good Shepherd and follow Him as if it were nothing that want to sacrifice and come to Him. As missionaries we are here to invite others to come unto Christ and we do that through our message and invitations. Our liahona to guide us in our personal obedience, faith and diligence. My companion and I have had good days and bad and when Satan tempts me to give up in that very moment God offers an escape and that’s when we see blessings. I am so blessed to have been born in the gospel I am not sure why but I know that my mission has been worth it every second and that I am going to keep looking for the chosen ones. Right now we have No one but our bishop and WML have changed our boundaries through revelation and I know that the work goes on I feel the spirit guiding us in this work. There is no other great work than this the call to work in the Lord vineyard is everlasting and it isn’t important when we hear the call, but that we respond. I am strengthen by each and every one of you for your small and simple acts of faith and love. I hope you all have a great week and that I’ll be able to announce a baptism soon.
Oh why did the chicken cross the road but we saw three chickens yesterday and they crossed the road and I took a picture with them and now that I think about it I don’t really understand the joke anymore...maybe you can tell why and why it’s so funny so I can tell my companion sis. Peñalosa she’s kind of confused too. Update on the brownies this Thursday for sure were making the brownies with the less active family and they are inviting nonmembers too because were super cool and they love us.

Love,

Hasta Luego Babies

4. Thank you for your prayers

I am so blessed to have so many kind and thoughtful family and friends and I am so grateful for all your efforts. This missionary is super loved.

This week was super interesting. We were able to teach a lot more. Whether we find a lot of people or not is according to our faith and diligence. In our zone conference with President we talked about the small and simple things that make the difference for a lot of good or a lot of bad. I know that like the family of Lehi if we give heed with faith and diligence the Lord guides us. He is always raining down His blessing upon us but we have an umbrella that blocks us from receiving the blessings. People in the world have a whole lot of problems but I know that if they could know what I know and see what I see that we would rejoice together. I have loved my studies of the Book of Mormon the prophets and missionaries like Alma and the sons of Mosiah and how the Lord works through small and simple things to bring to pass a change in us. I know that everything we go through is for a reason and the Lord never stops loving us, never. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that this is the only true church. I know it through prayer. God speaks to us, He cares, there is a reason to all of it. Maybe some people thinks it’s crazy but my personal testimony has helped me so much to remain calm and firm. Every day we have the opportunity to either 1. make a covenant 2. keep a covenant or 3. prepare to make a future covenant. I know God lives and loves me. I Love Him with all that I am. Well more about what happened this week.

We have found lots of people who say si! and then they don’t show up for church.

We contacted a reference of a crazy psychologist atheist who wanted my companion to be his girlfriend.

I got assigned to give a talk in church and they told me at 930 pm Saturday so I had one hour to write it. It turned out good, it was actually pretty cool because I had studied a talk in general conference 3 days earlier about the subject and had written a mini talk earlier. The spirit whispered to me, you’re going to give a talk.

Today we did a lot of laundry and slept for an hour and I got my hair cut. I remember when grandpa Richards used to say after we told him "I cut my hair" " wow it looks very good I don’t know how you cut it all by yourself and you look so cute". So when someone asked me if I cut my hair I told them that I didn't do it someone else did and they were like "huh?...oh yeah" I wanted to grow it out but I give up as always. It just doesn't grow long. So now it’s short again.

My companion is getting very advanced in English and she is so funny!

Luis our investigator has disappeared we are all super worried.

I love chocolate!!!!

I love you all! I hope you are well. "Cuidense y hasta luego babies" -Hna. Peñaloza mi compañera. hehe. Stay strong the best is yet to come

feliz día de tamales

A cloudy day in Mexico writing. I am really full of a delicious food called Carne asada. I am not sure how to spell it but it’s like a BBQ for Mexicans. Here its nopales (cactus), carne (meat), cotillos (wings), cebolla (onion), salsa (salsa) and tortillas. Tortillas fill me up a lot! They eat everything with tortillas. Speaking of food and how much I love it. I corazon <3 tamales. Today is a traditional catholic holiday and they eat tamales. We helped obispa (wife of the bishop) make tamales of various sabores (flavors) : chocolate, pineapple, regulars etc.yum! I have kind of lost my appetite for any food that isn't tamales. And I learned how to make them so I hope your all hungry? Well we had another dramatic week. We had a bunch of people ready to go to church and at the last minute they canceled, or didn't show up, or weren't in their house. Luis is someone very special we contacted in the street and he accepted baptism he has some doubts but he was working through them and progressing but Friday night his sister very aggressively told us to get lost and so...he isn't responding our calls :[ we are sad. We have lots of new investigators and are working on helping them keep their commitments! It’s helping my testimony to grow as I too am learning and understanding the importance of baptism, and how to receive answers. I am on my knees too pleading and asking and seeking. I know that this is the only true and everlasting gospel of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. I am excited to keep learning and do the best I can every day. Thank you for your prayers. I love you all. Cuídense hasta luego.
Love,
